SHARAKTAH grew up in a tiny village in northern Germany and quickly outgrew it. The 24-year-old has been making music and writing lyrics since early adolescence: back then in his grandfather's shed, now in his adopted home of Hamburg. His songs are small anthems of his generation, telling relatable stories through melancholic, conflicted lyrics and a sound that opens the door to a world of hip hop and grunge, rap and distorted guitars. His birth name is Christopher Mede, born in Ketelsbüttel in Schleswig-Holstein. He began writing songs early in life, in his grandfather's shed, where his grandfather also taught him to play guitar. His music was first shaped by bands like Linkin Park and Billy Talent, later strongly by Post Malone. He has released music since 2020: the debut album "Almost Home" (Epic Records/Sony) came out in 2021, followed in 2023 by "Blumen wachsen durch Beton" ("Flowers Grow Through Concrete", Epic Records/Sony), which reached #93 on the German album charts.
